Welcome back to watchkeepers. This is the second part in a new fictional story series, written and illustrated by me, Kika MacFarlane. If you haven’t already, go read watchkeepers 1 before diving in.
It feels a bit weird to be so deep in a fantasy world when the real world is quite bonkers at the moment, but maybe it’s a good thing. We need art always – and perhaps now more than ever. Weird art, meaningful art, silly art, art for no sake other than enjoyment. So without further ado, enjoy traveling back to the Snail Coast…
I have received such lovely feedback on this illustrated story and I am so grateful to have the support & excitement of the Substack community!! After how crazy the real world has felt recently, I’ve really loved escaping to this fantasy realm and bringing it to life with illustration.
